I HAVE TO VENT OFF, PREPARE FOR BAWWWING.
As you may or may not know, the ED domain was sold to the jews, and now we have yet another KYM spinoff that tries to make money off the chan culture.
This is a supposed interview of one of the ED sysops that was posted on /x/ yesterday. I don't know whether it's real or not, but I've read some articles on the dissapearance of ED that basically point out to the same thing: ED was sold to some company.
Former ED sysop here. I'm going to explain everything. Just hear me out.
Sometime in early March, our higher-up sysops decided that needed to make sacrifices. Donations were at an all time low, and advertisers were succumbing to pressure to pull advertisements from ED due to 'offensive' content. We did everything we could; pop-up ads, click fraud, anything we could to keep our site alive.
Eventually, we had to do the unthinkable and got rid of the 'racist' articles, including the Jew and Aboriginal article. But it wasn't enough. None of the advertisers would come back.
But what happened today, was something that myself and various other lulz-loyal sysops begged and pleaded with Joseph Evers, the owner of the Encyclopedia Dramatica domain, not to do. Some of us even offered to take up another IRL job, and pay for the domain ourselves, in any minuscule amount we could afford.
He wouldn't listen. He saw dollar signs in his eyes, because the group he sold it to in particular had an article on ED about them (needless to say, it was unflattering). They offered him a lot.
And you know what? He did it. He sold it, despite protests from NUMEROUS Sysops. Joseph Evers sold the ED domain.
We haven't heard from Girlvinyl or Weev since this disgusting injustice occurred. But don't blame the sysops.
Blame Joseph Evers.

I know I shouldn't feel down because of this. I only went to ED when I wanted to waste some time laughing at the lolcows' articles. And it's just another fucking website on the internet. But the most paranoid part of me thinks that this is just another symptom of the corporate disease that's taking over the internet. Everybody wants to be the next Zuckerberg; so in the world of social media the only 'new' thing to do is to appeal to the 'edgy, misterious' 15 year-olds who think that being part of this big internet club is the coolest thing ever (thus, sites like Know Your Meme get immensely popular).
But this isn't what bothers me. It's that with corporations come advertisement, and everyone knows they can't sell a website that blames jews, niggers and faggots for everything. They're trying to water down 4chan and its culture, and it's working. In an attempt of what I guess is trying to present a better façade to the world, moot suddenly became a moralfag who deleted /new/ because it was "another stormfront". You made your bed, now lie on it, faggot. Sure, he needs his investors and all the jewish money they come with, but at least have the decency to hand the ownership of 4chan to someone who knows what the site is really about. Banning people for racism on 4chan is the single most hypocritical shit I've ever seen in my life. Especially when its owner usually talks about "freedom of speech" and the role of anonimity in it at every chance he gets.
Fuck you moot.
Well whatever, when the downfall of 4chan finally comes, I'll be safely tucked into another chan. Christian 15yo and their concerned parents may take over our "meme culture" and safely laugh at all our SFW jokes thanks to Corporate Joe & Bros, but at least I have hope that the internet can still be a scary place.

it's sad anyway, because we all thought that the internet would be the real 'no rules, freedom for everyone, ANARCHISM FUCK YEAH' place for all of us. but, as always, the power of money is bigger.
I hope 4chan lasts some more years as such a libertine place. but at this rate, we'll have to say goodbye to the net neutrality in a decade or so.
