It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I also miss the drawfag threads. When you or I would start one, so many people would jump on board despite the trolls joining in as well. I was on /x/ yesterday and the drawfag thread on there was kinda pitiful just in the fact of how 98% of the posts were just requests. It was rather baron. I had wished so hard that I had a tablet and more time to myself on my friend's laptop. I soo would've draw some stuff in there.

Yeah, it seems like /x/'s "summer" lasts half of the year. It normally gets good after Halloween, because all the newfags looking to be scared are gone and actual discussion happens.

Personally, I enjoy /k/ as a substitute. I don't know why, but there's something comforting and familiar about knowing people are armed to the teeth and ready to destroy things.

Guuuuhh I know. I hate it. Thankfully summer is winter for me, so when I have time to waste on /x/ it's winter for most channers and I get to enjoy the quality.
/k/ is nice. I wish i knew more about guns to understand what they talk about.

but it turned into some guy just trying to tell me how wrong I was
without actually backing it up with solid evidence.
He was either a terrible troll or very, very stupid.
